#5230 Paper Play
Treat yourself to a fabulous time with silk embedded papers from India, Florentine prints from Italy, and metallic patterns from Japan. Paper Play gives you an opportunity to experiment with all of these and more.
Have you tried hand-dyeing your own papers yet? It’s enjoyable and the results are so dramatic, you won’t want to stop! Artists have been exploring ways to incorporate paper as a medium since its invention in the first century A.D.
Paper folding and cutting have been elevated to art forms for centuries in China and Japan. In Mexico, “papel picado” uses punched design to create decorations for festivals. Today, cutting, punching and folding are combined with tearing, layering, inking and dyeing techniques. In addition, we are using textured papers, translucents and metallics to create exciting projects.
